Passenger's airbag cutoff indicator stays on or comes on suddenlyNOTE:
- When no one is sitting the front passenger's seat, but there is an object on the seat more than 5 kg (11 lbs), the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator comes on.
- When no one is sitting in the front passenger's seat, but the seat belt is unbuckled, the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator comes on.
- When the seat weight is less than 30 kg (66 lbs) even an adult is sitting in the front passenger's seat, the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator comes on.
- The detected weight can be lighter than the actual weight depending on the seated position.
- Do the "Seat component exchange opportunity ability check" using the HDS whenever the seat or seat components are replaced or seat weight sensor is removed and installed.
- Do the "Accident-damaged vehicle function check" using the HDS after a vehicle collision, regardless of the airbag deployment.
- Make sure that the front passenger's seat components are installed correctly.
- Make sure there is nothing on the front passenger's seat.
- Make sure there is nothing in the front passenger's seat-back pocket.
1. Connect the HDS to the DLC
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the SRS unit. If it does not troubleshoot the DLC circuit.
4. Check all of the conditions under NOTE.
Have all the conditions under NOTE been met?
YES - Go the INSPECTION menu on the HDS and select AFTER REPLACING FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT COMPONENT(S) and follow the prompts.
NO - The problem is solved.
