DTC P0A5E (24): U Phase Motor Current Sensor Circuit Low VoltageGeneral Description
The motor control module (MCM) controls motor output based on the motor current sensor signals. Normally, the motor current sensor has the characteristics shown above. If there is an open in the signal wire, a short to ground, a faulty sensor power supply cable, or a faulty ground wiring harness, the output voltage stays out of range. If the input voltage to the MCM is lower than normal, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.

Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
The MCM input voltage from the U phase motor current sensor is 0.25 V or less for at least 0.5 seconds.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for illuminating the MIL
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the PCM and MCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the MIL
The MIL will be cleared if the malfunction does not recur during three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs.
The MIL, the DTC, and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
