Starter Motor Intermittently Grinds In Cold Weather
SYMPTOM
The starter motor intermittently grinds in cold weather
(typically 45° F or colder).
PROBABLE CAUSE
The starter clutch housing may be out of specification, causing uneven loading between the clutch roller and the starter pinion.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the starter motor.
