M/T Mainshaft Disassembly
NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View in the Mainshaft Reassembly, as needed, when removing components pressed onto the mainshaft M/T Main shaft Reassembly.
1. Remove the angular ball bearing (A) using the bearing separator set (B) and bearing puller (C).
2. Remove the tapered cone ring, the distance collar, the synchro ring, and the 5th synchro sleeve.
3. Support 5th gear (A) on steel blocks, and press the mainshaft out of the 5th synchro hub (B).
NOTE: Do not use a jaw-type puller; it can damage the gear teeth.
4. Support 3rd gear (A) on steel blocks, and press the mainshaft out of the 3rd/4th synchro hub (B).
