Advanced Diagnostics - DTC P0AA6 (59): High Voltage Circuit Isolation Problem

General Description
There is a high voltage wiring system, including the battery module, in the integrated motor assist (IMA) system. The high voltage wiring system is insulated from the body on both positive and negative circuits. The motor control module (MCM) detects decreases in the insulation resistance (short circuit resistance), and if the resistance drops to a specified resistance, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type, OBD Status

Enable Conditions

Malfunction Threshold
The resistance value between the high voltage circuit resistance and body ground is 193 kOhms or less for at least 16 seconds.

Driving Pattern
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait for at least 30 seconds.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the MCM memory. The MIL does not come on.

Conditions for clearing the DTC
The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
