SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 82-15, 82-17, 83-25, 83-27

DTC 82-15:

Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (front inner side) (4-door)

DTC 82-17:

Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (rear inner side) (4-door)

DTC 83-25:

Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (front outer side) (4-door)

DTC 83-27:

Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (rear outer side) (4-door)

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures Service and Repair and General Troubleshooting Information Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC82-15, 82-17, 83-25, or 83-27 indicated?

YES -

Faulty front passenger's weight sensor; replace the front passenger's seat frame including all four front passenger's weight sensors Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement (4-Door), then clear the DTC.�

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures.�
