Hood Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Testing and Inspection

Security Hood Switch Test

1. Open the hood.

2. Remove the front grille cover:

- 4-door Front Grille Cover Replacement (4-Door)
- 2-door Front Grille Cover Replacement (2-Door)

3. '11 model: Remove the front grill stay.

4. Disconnect the 2P connector from the security hood switch.





5. Check for continuity between the terminals.

- There should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when the hood is opened (latch released).
- There should be no continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when the hood is closed (latch pushed down).

6. If the continuity is not as specified, faulty security hood switch; replace the hood latch assembly Service and Repair.
