DIAGNOSIS

NOTE:
When moving the driver's power seat forward or backward, a loud squealing or groan is heard. This noise usually happens in warm weather and goes away in cool or colder weather.

1. Remove the driver's seat rear inner and outer end covers, the four driver's seat mounting bolts, and tilt the seat back to access the underside.

2. Detach the flex cable housing from the two clips, then remove the flex cable and the housing.

3. Twist the flex cable back and forth inside the cable housing and see if there is a squeak.

^ If there is a light squeak, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

^ If there is no squeak, this bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. With the seat tilted back, install the new flex cable and housing, securing it in the two clips.

2. Reinstall the seat, and torque the seat bolts to 41 N.m (30 lb-ft). Reinstall the inner and outer end covers.
