DTC Troubleshooting: B1175
DTC B1175 : Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Circuit Malfunction
1. Problem verification:
Problem verification
-1. Check the fuel gauge.
Does the gauge move to the empty position and the low fuel indicator blink?
-YES- Go to step 2.
-NO- Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
2. Fuel gauge operation check:
Fuel gauge operation check
-1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
-3. Connect terminals A and B with a 2 Ohms resistor and a jumper wire.
-4. Remove the No. A29 (10 A) fuse from the under-hood fuse/relay box for at least 10 seconds, then reinstall it.
-5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
-6. Check the fuel gauge.
Does the gauge move to the full position?
-YES- Go to step 4.
-NO- Go to step 3.
3. Open wire check (FUEL_GAGE+ line):
Open wire check (FUEL_GAGE+ line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Is there battery voltage?
-YES- Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
-NO- Replace the gauge control module (tach) Gauge Control Module (Tach) Removal and Installation.
4. Open wire check (FUEL_GAGE- line):
Open wire check (FUEL_GAGE- line)
-1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
-3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Is there continuity?
-YES- Replace the fuel gauge sending unit Fuel Pump/Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Removal and Installation.
-NO- Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
