DTC Troubleshooting: P16E4

DTC P16E4 : ACG High-temperature

NOTE:
* Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information How To Troubleshoot The Fuel And Emissions Systems.
* This DTC is stored when the alternator temperature is high (about 320 °F (160 °C) or more).

1. Problem verification:

Problem verification
-1. If the temperature of the engine and the alternator is high, open the hood to cool the engine compartment.

-2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

-3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

-4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P16E4 indicated?
-YES- Replace the alternator Removal and Replacement.
-NO- Check the cause of the high temperature, and repair it.
