Service Information

Fuel Cap Adapter Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Vehicle - Lift

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.

2. Rear Wheel





1. Remove the center cap (A).

2. Remove the rear wheel.

3. Left Rear Inner Fender





1. Remove the left rear inner fender (A).

4. Fuel Cap Adapter





1. Remove the fuel cap (A).

2. Remove the screw (B).





3. Remove the bolts (A).

4. Lower the fuel filler pipe (B), then remove it from the fuel cap adapter (C).

5. For some models: Disconnect the fuel tube (D).





6. Remove the fuel cap adapter (A).

Installation

1. Fuel Cap Adapter





1. Install the fuel cap adapter (A) into place.





2. For some models: Connect the fuel tube (A).

3. Raise the fuel filler pipe (B), and install it to the fuel cap adapter (C).

4. Install the bolts (D).





5. Install the screw (A).

6. Install the fuel cap (B).

2. Left Rear Inner Fender





1. Install the left rear inner fender (A).

3. Rear Wheel





1. Install the rear wheel.

NOTE: Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces between the brake drum and the inside of the wheel.

2. Install the center cap (A).
