Auto Idle Stop System Troubleshooting

1. Problem verification:

Problem verification
-1. Do the idle stop system inspection. Auto Idle Stop System Inspection

Is auto idle stop working?
-YES- The system is OK at this time.
-NO- Go to step 2.

2. All system check:

All system check
-1. Start the engine, and watch the gauge control module.

Do any indicators come on or blink?
-YES- Do the troubleshooting for the system indicator that comes on or blinks.
-NO- Go to step 3.

3. Brake switch operation check:

Brake switch operation check
-1. Check the BRAKE SWITCH in the PGM-FI SYSTEM DATA LIST with the HDS.

Does it indicate ON when the brake pedal is pressed and OFF when the brake pedal is released?
-YES- Go to step 4.
-NO- Do the brake pedal position switch test Testing and Inspection.

4. Shift position indicator system check:

Shift position indicator system check
-1. Move the shift lever from N to D.

Does the D indicator come on when you move the shift lever to D?
-YES- Go to step 5.
-NO-
* Check the A/T gear position indicator drive circuit.
* Adjust the shift cable Adjustments.
* Inspect the transmission range switch Testing and Inspection.

5. Wiper system check:

Wiper system check
-1. Check for DTCs in the WIPER SYSTEM with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?
-YES- Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
-NO- Go to step 6.

6. Gauge system check:

Gauge system check
-1. Check for DTCs in the GAUGE SYSTEM with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?
-YES- Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
-NO- Go to step 7.

7. Climate control system check:

Climate control system check
-1. Check for DTCs in the CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?
-YES- Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
-NO- Go to step 8.

8. Climate control unit check:

Climate control unit check
-1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

-2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and select the ECO screen on the MID.





Is the outside temperature reading (A) accurate?
-YES- The system is OK at this time.
-NO-
* If the outside air temperature is not indicated, substitute a known-good climate control unit, then recheck. If the auto idle stop system is OK, replace the original climate control unit; without navigation Climate Control Unit Removal And Installation (Without Navigation), with navigation Climate Control Unit Removal And Installation (With Navigation).
* If the outside temperature reading is not accurate, check the outside air temperature sensor Service and Repair.
