XM radio display is blank and no station information is displayed

NOTE:
* Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
* Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Determine possible failure area (XM system, others):

Determine possible failure area (XM system, others)
-1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

-2. Turn on the audio system, and press the AUDIO button to check if the multi-information display changes to the audio information screen.

Is the audio information displayed?
-YES- Go to step 2.
-NO- Go to Audio system information does not display on the multi-information display unit troubleshooting Audio System Information Does Not Display On The Multi-Information Display (With Navigation).

2. Problem verification:

Problem verification
-1. Press the CD/XM button to check if the navigation display changes to the XM radio information screen.

Is the XM radio information displayed?
-YES- Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
-NO- The failure is duplicated, go to step 3.

3. Determine possible failure area (GA +B line, others):

Determine possible failure area (GA +B line, others)
-1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.









Is there battery voltage?
-YES- Go to step 5.
-NO- Go to step 4.

4. Open wire check (GA +B line):

Open wire check (GA +B line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.









Is there battery voltage?
-YES- Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the XM receiver.
-NO- Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation.

5. Open wire check (GA_GND line):

Open wire check (GA_GND line)
-1. Disconnect the following connectors.





-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.









Is there continuity?
-YES- Go to step 6.
-NO- Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the XM receiver.

6. Shorted wire check (GA_SYS_ON line):

-1. Disconnect the following connector.





-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.









Is there continuity?
-YES- Repair a short to body ground in the wire between the XM receiver and the audio-navigation unit.
-NO- Go to step 7.

7. Open wire check (GA_SYS_ON line):

Open wire check (GA_SYS_ON line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.









Is there continuity?
-YES- Go to step 8.
-NO- Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the XM receiver.

8. Open wire check (GA_BUS+ line, GA_BUS- line):

Open wire check (GA_BUS+ line, GA_BUS- line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.














Is there continuity?
-YES- Go to step 9.
-NO- There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the XM receiver. Replace the affected shielded harness.

9. Audio-navigation unit check:

Audio-navigation unit check
-1. Substitute a known-good XM receiver XM Receiver Removal and Installation, and recheck.

Does the symptom go away?
-YES- Replace the original XM receiver.
-NO- Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation.
