Auto Reverse Power Window Operation Malfunction

NOTE: Refer to the power windows system description in the construction and function guide.

Incorrect actuation of the power window may occur in the following situations:
* AUTO UP/AUTO DOWN operation while the vehicle running on the bad roads.
* AUTO UP/AUTO DOWN operation while the door opening or closing.

1. Problem verification 1:

-1. Start the engine.

-2. Fully open the door glass by using the power window AUTO DOWN switch.

-3. Fully close the door glass by using the power window AUTO UP switch.

Does the door glass reverse on the way it closing?
-YES- Go to step 3.
-NO- Go to step 2.

2. Problem verification 2:

-1. Fully open the door glass by using the power window AUTO DOWN switch.

-2. Fully close the door glass by using the power window AUTO UP switch.

Does the door glass reverse at once, after it is closed completely?
-YES- Go to resetting the power window control unit Testing and Inspection.
-NO- Intermittent failure, the power window is OK at this time.

3. Power window motor test:

-1. Check the power window motor.

Is the power window motor OK?
-YES- Go to step 4.
-NO- Replace the power window motor Front Power Window Motor Removal and Installation (4-door).

4. Door glass/door glass outer weatherstrip/door sash/door regulator check:

-1. Fully close the door glass.

-2. Tape to the glass as shown.





-3. Fully open the door glass.

-4. Fully close the door glass by using the power window AUTO UP switch, and check for the following:
* Abnormal movement of the glass
* Abnormal change of operation speed

-5. Tape to the abnormal part as shown, and check for the following:
* Adhesion of foreign body
* Defective installation
* Abnormal wear
* Door glass adjustment




Is there an abnormal part?
-YES- Repair or replace the abnormal parts, then go to step 5.
-NO- Troubleshooting is complete, go to resetting the power window control unit Testing and Inspection.

5. Power window operation check:

-1. Fully open the door glass by using the power window AUTO DOWN switch.

-2. Fully close the door glass by using the power window AUTO UP switch.

Does the door glass reverse on the way it closing?
-YES- Troubleshooting is not complete, go to step 4 and recheck.
-NO- Troubleshooting is complete, go to resetting the power window control unit Testing and Inspection.
