DTC Troubleshooting: P16E4

DTC P16E4:

ACG High-temperature

NOTE:

- Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
- This DTC is stored when the alternator temperature is high (about 320 °F (160 °C) or more).

1. If the temperature of the engine and the alternator is high, open the hood to cool the engine compartment.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P16E4 indicated?

YES -

Replace the alternator Removal and Replacement.

NO -

Check the cause of the high temperature, and repair it.
