Spare Tire Carrier: Service and Repair




Spare Tire Carrier Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body.

1. Remove the spare tire cap (A) from the rear trim panel (B), then loosen the carrier hook bolt (C) with the wheel nut wrench (D).

NOTE: Turn the wrench until you can see the spare tire (65-70 rotations). Do not turn the wrench any further once you feel resistance.






2. Release the spare tire carrier (A) from the carrier hook (B), then remove the spare tire (C) from the carrier.

NOTE: When restoring the spare tire, place the spare tire facing up on the spare tire carrier.






3. Remove the bolts securing the spare tire carrier (A) to the body.






4. Release the hooks (A) from the body hole, then remove the spare tire carrier (B).






5. If necessary, remove the bolt carrier hook cap (A), then remove the carrier hook (B) from the carrier hook bolt (C).






6. Install the carrier in the reverse order of removal.
