Windshield Washer Hose: Service and Repair
Washer Tube Replacement
1. Remove the right front inner fender.
2. Remove the windshield washer nozzles and clips, then remove the tubes.
3. Open the tailgate, then remove the grommet (A).
4. Disconnect the elbow tube (B) from the rear washer nozzle (C) and one way valve (D).
5. Connect the new replacement tube (E) to the one way valve.
6. Remove the tube joint (A) from the joint (B), then remove the joint from the rear window and pull it and the attached tube (C) slightly to the right.
NOTE: The attached joint can be easily removed by warming the adhesion side of the joint and the glass. Clean and dry the joint's adhesive surface for later reinstallation.
7. Remove the tube from the joint, then firmly bond the other end of the replacement tube (D) to the old tube with quick-drying glue.
8. Make the new tube as shown.
9. Spray soapy water over the entire new tube. Then remove the old tube by carefully pulling it through counterclockwise. Pull the new replacement tube until the two marks rotate into position within the tailgate of the nozzle you disconnected.
10. Trim the new tube (A) to where you marked it (B) in step 8.
11. Clean the joint installation surface (C).
12. Insert the trimmed new tube onto the joint (D), and firmly reattach the joint to the glass while pulling the new tube to the left to take up any slack.
13. Trim the new tube (A) to where you marked it (B) in step 8.
14. Insert the new, trimmed tube into the one way valve (C).
15. Attach the elbow tube to the one way valve, and then to the rear washer nozzle (D). Take care not to pinch the washer tubes.
16. Check for washer operation and leaks, then reinstall the grommet.
