Advanced Diagnostics - DTC P16C3 (31): DC-DC Converter Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction






General Description
The DC-DC converter temperature sensor abnormality is detected by the microcomputer in the DC-DC converter, and this information is sent to the motor control module (MCM) via serial communication. When the abnormal temperature sensor information continues for a set time, the MCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The abnormal DC-DC converter temperature sensor information continues for at least 2 seconds.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the MCM memory. The MIL does not come on.

Conditions for clearing the DTC
The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
