Console Replacement

CONSOLE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: For easy access to center console and I/P removal, the front seats should be removed. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket.




1. Loosen the locking hex screw that fastens shift lever to floor console shifter.




2. Loosen screws that hold front trim panel and remove from center console.




3. Remove hinged arm rest cover from center console.




4. Remove top panel from center console.




5. Remove storage bin screws and remove storage bin from center console.




6. Disconnect electrical connections to center console end cap and unscrew from center console.




7. Remove screws holding center console to center console bracket.




8. Remove center console.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Make sure HVAC duct is aligned with center console.




1. Align center console to center console bracket and align all electrical wiring through console.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Fasten center console to center console bracket.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 9 N.m (80 lb in).




3. Attach top panel to center console.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).




4. Make electrical connections to end panel and secure end panel to center console.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).




5. Attach to center console uppertrim plate.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




6. Insert storage bin and fasten to center console.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




7. Attach hinged center arm rest to center console.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




8. Tighten shift lever to shift lever arm with hex nut.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
