Liftgate Adjustment





1. To adjust the liftgate upward or downward, slightly loosen the bolts retaining the liftgate to the hinge (1).




2. Adjust the liftgate (1) to the rear bumper fascia (2) gap (A) to 22-24 mm (0.86 -94 in).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the bolts (1) retaining the liftgate to the hinge.

Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

To adjust the liftgate inward or outward, remove the rear upper garnish molding trim. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) .
5. Slightly loosen the bolts retaining the hinge to the vehicle.
6. Adjust the liftgate (1) to roof (2) gap (A) to 13 mm (0.51 in).
7. Install the bolts (1) retaining the hinge to the vehicle.

Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

8. Install the rear upper garnish molding trim. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) .
9. Operate the liftgate to inspect for proper operation.
