Fuel Tank Shield Replacement Procedure

Models: 2003-2006 HUMMER H2


Note: When replacing a rear axle lower control arm, it is necessary to remove the fuel tank stone shield.


Fuel Tank Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure






1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the fuel tank shield nuts from the frame side of the fuel tank.
3. Remove the fuel tank shield stud from the right rear of the fuel tank.
4. Remove the fuel tank shield from the fuel tank.


Installation Procedure






1. Position the fuel tank shield to the fuel tank.
2. Start the fuel tank shield stud to the right rear of the fuel tank.
3. Start the fuel tank shield nuts to the frame side of the fuel tank.

Tighten

Tighten the nuts and studs to 25 Nm (18 lb in).

4. Lower the vehicle.
