Subject A/C SYSTEM LEAK - SUCTION HOSE & DISCHARGE HOSE
Due to restricted access to the high and low pressure hose fittings on the A/C compressor, it is necessary to use special procedures and tools to properly secure these fittings. The following procedures and recommended tools should be used to insure proper installation.

1. Attach the high and low pressure lines to the A/C compressor finger tight. Be sure O-rings are properly lubricated with clean refrigerant oil only.

2. Insert a 1" wood dowel (broom handle) between the low pressure line muffler and the A/C compressor body (see illustration). Take care not to disturb any vacuum or electrical connections during this step. If properly inserted, the dowel will keep the suction line properly aligned (parallel to the compressor) during torquing of the attachment fitting.

Note: The discharge line is clamped to the compressor by the hold down bracket and therefore does not need to be retained while torquing.
