RADIO SOUND QUALITY
On models equipped with the optional high power four speaker radio, you may receive some negative comments from customers regarding radio sound quality. We have found that in some cases the front and rear speaker sets may be out of phase with each other. This condition results in a somewhat diminished response in both the high and low frequencies. This condition is most noticeable when the fader control is adjusted for equal balance between the front and rear speakers.

To improve this condition it is necessary to reverse the leads to the front speakers (see following procedure). However, this corrective action should only be performed as a result of expressed customer dissatisfaction. The resulting increase in radio performance is very small and perceptible by only the most critical customers. For this reason, we suggest that the customer be consulted and allowed to evaluate the performance of the audio system prior to leaving your dealership.

Procedure

1. Locate and disconnect the speaker connectors in the left and right toe board side panels.

2. Disengage the leads from both the right and left body side connectors (female connector) and reverse their positions within the connector housing.
3. Reconnect the connectors and test.
