Campaign Description

CONDITION

California specification vehicles may be emitting air pollutants in excess of the California emission standards.

CORRECTION

Campaign will involve the installation of a shim into the choke system, as well as installation of a new air correction jet in the carburetor. In addition, the timing will be reset, the sub-EGR valve cleaned, and the jet mixture solenoid and exhaust manifold will be inspected and replaced, if necessary.

VEHICLES AFFECTED

All 1986 Model year California specification Excels - 28,450 Units

IDENTIFICATION

1. California or Federal specifications label under the hood.

2. Exhaust manifold has one (1) air pipe on California specification cars and two (2) air pipes on Federal Specification cars.

Only California Specification cars are involved in this campaign."
