The front strut damping rate, rear shock damping rate, and rear spring rates have been changed on the 1990 MY Excel effective December 12, 1989 production.

Even though the new and old parts are physically interchangeable, the new parts are not to be interchanged individually with the old parts because of the rate change of each piece. When replacing suspension parts, install the same part number that you removed from the vehicle. If the same part number is not available, replace both the left hand and right hand parts with the new part number.



Intermixing old and new parts could result in poor handling and ride. The chart below shows how the new parts compare to the old.
