LOCK UP TORQUE CONVERTER CHECKER MALFUNCTION
This bulletin addresses a potential malfunction of the lock-up torque converter checker (P/N 09452-21700) which could cause a misdiagnosis problem for Hyundai technicians.

Should the green indicator lamp fail to make contact in its socket or burn out, the ELC-A/T checker will not function properly when performing torque converter lock-up clutch tests. If the lamp fails to illuminate when the checker is properly connected to a vehicle and the test switch is placed in the "on" position, we suggest that you check the bulb and its contact to the socket.

The bulb is easily accessed by holding the mounting ring (B) stationary while unscrewing the green lamp lens (A). If the bulb is defective, a suitable replacement can be purchased at your local electronics store. This checker uses a 12 volt screw-in type bulb.
