1. Remove battery.
2. Disconnect manual control cable, inhibitor switch electrical connector, oil cooler lines and speedometer cable from transaxle. Plug cooler lines to prevent contamination or loss of fluid.
3. Disconnect starter motor electrical harness, then remove upper transaxle to engine attaching bolts.
4. Remove starter motor.
5. Raise and support vehicle, then remove undercover.
6. Drain fluid from transaxle.
7. Disconnect stabilizer bar from control arm, then the control arm from crossmember.
8. Remove driveshafts from transaxle end.
9. Remove converter housing cover.
10. Remove converter to drive plate attaching bolts, then push converter toward transaxle.
11. Support transaxle with suitable jack, then remove remaining attaching bolts.
12. Remove transaxle mount insulator and support bracket bolts.
13. Slide transaxle to the right and lower from vehicle.
14. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching bolts to specifications as shown in Fig. 4.
