Hyundai Motor America, in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, is conducting a voluntary Reed Valve Subassembly Recall Campaign on all 1986-1989 Model Year Excels. We are asking customers to call their Hyundai Dealer and make an appointment to have their vehicles repaired.
This voluntary recall campaign represents both a challenge and an opportunity. The challenge is the large number of vehicles involved - over 800,000 vehicles. On the other hand, the opportunity is converting these customers for repeat sales and service business. This will depend, in large, on the treatment they receive at your dealership during this voluntary recall campaign. A positive repair experience will translate favorably for future business.
Both Hyundai and your dealership have a vested interest in making this campaign successful. Special care and planning is required to insure that the needed repairs are made efficiently so as to maximize customer satisfaction.
