GENERAL INFORMATION:
Snap-On Tools/Sun Electric has developed a cable rental program for all manufacturers' vehicle models. This rental program will allow you to test cables for different makes prior to purchasing them and let you fix those "one time" problem vehicles from your used-car department by utilizing the power of Simu-Tech.
Current rental prices for cables are $50 for two days (minimum) and $125 for a full week. Price includes shipping. In order to rent a cable, you must have an Equipment Service Account (MBNA) with Sun Electric. If you do not have an account, you will be required to complete and submit an application prior to cable rental. (Prices subject to change, contact Sun for current prices).
The following is the procedure for cable rental.
1. Identify the cable you need to rent. You can find this information by going into SimuTech and/or ABS Tech and selecting the make, model and year of the vehicle in the appropriate application and the adapter cable will be listed to the right of the vehicle. If you are unsure of the cable, call Sun Technical Support at (800) 225-5788. When prompted, enter 4 for technical support, then 1 for specific equipment. The support personnel will assist you on cable requirements.
2. After you know which cable you need, call (800) 225-5786 then select 2 for cable ordering. If you do not have a touch-tone phone, remain on the line and you will be transferred by the operator.
3. Identify your call as "cable rental" and provide the agent with your dealer's name, address and phone number.
4. Provide the cable number you need to rent.
5. Advise the length of rental, either two days or one week. If you need to rent the cable longer than one week, you will be required to call back after five days and extend your rental. If your call is processed prior to 4:00 P.M. Central time, the cable will be shipped and delivered the next day. Calls processed after 4:00 P.M. will be shipped the following day.
The agent processing your call will advise you of the day and time the cable needs to be received back at Sun in Crystal Lake, IL before late charges are incurred. If the cable is not received on this date, a late charge of fifty dollars per day up to the list price of the cable will be charged to your account. Cables will be inspected upon return and damaged cables will also be charged to your account.
