Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Fig. 1 Connecting Multi-Use Tester (MUT):

1. Check battery voltage, should be between 9 and 16 volts.
2. Check warning light by turning ignition switch On and verifying that ABS warning light illuminates for one second.
3. Use Hyundai Multi-Use Tester (MUT) to inspect system as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch Off, then connect multi-use tester to diagnosis connector in fuse box and cigarette lighter socket, Fig. 1.
b. Turn ignition switch On, then use multi-use tester to check self-diagnosis trouble codes.
c. After correction of problems, turn ignition Off, erase stored trouble codes using multi-use tester, then disconnect multi-use tester.
