Intake Air Temperature Sensing System:

To test the Air Temperature Sensor (Intake), located on the air flow sensor, in the air cleaner housing. Remove the air flow sensor (AFS) connector and proceed as follows.

Intake Air Temperature Test Hook-up:

1. Measure the resistance between terminals 4 and 6.
Terminals 4: Intake air temperature output
Terminals 6: Sensor ground
Standard Values
6.0 ohms at 32° F
2.7 ohms at 68° F
0.4 ohms at 176° F

Intake Air Temperature Test:

2. Measure the resistance while heating the sensor using a hair drier. You should observe a reduction in resistance (less Ohms) in response to an increase in temperature at the sensor.
If the value deviates from the standard value or the resistance remains unchanged, replace the air flow sensor assembly.

3. Measure the sensor supply voltage by connecting a voltmeter to sensor harness terminal 4.

Voltage:
4.5-4.9 Volts
