Naturally Aspired
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) from the vehicle following the instructions in the Shop Manual.2. With the bottom side up on the ECM, bend the ten tabs straight up to release the cover from the base and separate.
3. Locate the EPROM. It is located under the removable white retainer. Remove the white retainer. Lift the EPROM from the socket straight up with equal pressure.
4. Install the new EPROM carefully with the notch in the EPROM matching the notch in the socket. Use extreme caution not to bend the pins of the EPROM. Reinstall the white retainer.
5. Place the cover over the base. Turn the ECM upside down and bend the ten tabs down to fasten the base to the cover.
6. Install the ECM into the vehicle.
7. Open the left door and place a punch mark over the 11th character on the B-Pillar identification plate. This will indicate that the campaign procedures have been completed. Proceed to Step 1 of the Modification Label and Proof of Correction Form instructions.
