Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

1. Using the fuel pressure gauge connector (09353-24000 and 09353-24100), install the fuel pressure gauge to the service valve.

2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator, and plug the hose end. Measure fuel pressure at idle.

Standard value: 300 kPa (44.37 psi)

3. Measure the fuel pressure when the vacuum hose is connected to the pressure regulator.

Standard value: Approximately 250 kPa (37 psi)

4. If the results of the measurements made in steps (2) and (3) are not within the standard value, use the table to determine the probable cause, and make the necessary repairs.

5. Stop the engine and check for a change in the fuel pressure gauge reading, which should hold for approximately 5 minutes. If the gauge indication drops, observe the rate of drop. Use the table to determine the probable cause, and make the necessary repairs.
6. Remove the fuel pressure gauge connector from the service valve.
