CHANGE IN EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SWITCH

DESCRIPTION:





The evaporator temperature switch has been changed from a thermostat type of switch to a thermistor switch. The connector to the switch has also been changed from a two pin connector to a three pin connector.

SPECIFICATIONS:

OPERATIONAL TEMPERATURES

A/C OFF 1.5 +/- 1°C (34.7 +/- 1.8°F)
A/C ON 4.3 +/- 1°C (39.7 +/- 1.8°F)





A/C EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SWITCH COMPONENT CHANGE:

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES:

1) Run the engine.

2) Turn on the A/C switch








3) Check whether there is a change in voltage between pins 1 and 2 corresponding to the temperature changes of the evaporator.

NOTE:
This test should be carried out with the connector coupled.

4) If the condition is not satisfied, replace the thermistor.
