PREPARATION FOR TEST
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose (red stripe) from the throttle body and connect a manual vacuum pump to the hose.
2. Plug the nipple on the throttle body where the hose was removed.

COLD ENGINE TEST
1. Coolant temperature less than 40°C (104°F), or below.
2. Verify that with the engine idling, and 50 kPa (7.3 psi) of vacuum is applied that the vacuum holds.
3. Repeat this test at 3,000 RPM, vacuum should hold.

WARM ENGINE TEST
1. Coolant temperature greater than 80°C (176°F.
2. While the engine is idling apply 50 kPa (7.3 psi) of vacuum to the hose, the vacuum should hold.
3. Momentarily stop engine and then restart.
4. Within 3 minutes of engine start and with the engine running at 3,000 RPM attempt to apply vacuum to the hose, vacuum should not hold.
5. After 3 minutes have passed after engine start and with the engine running at 3,000 RPM apply 50 kPa (7.3 psi) of vacuum to the hose, vacuum will hold momentarily after which it will be released.
