CATALYTIC CONVERTER
Do not park over combustible objects or materials catalytic converters reach temperatures of 650°C (1200°F) and stay hot for some time after the engine has been shut off.

CARBON MONOXIDE
Do not run the engine in confined areas or breathe concentrated exhaust gases, exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide--an odorless, colorless gas which displaces oxygen and can cause loss of consciousness or death.

EXHAUST SYSTEM LEAKS
Repair exhaust system leaks as soon as possible. Exhaust gases can ignite flammable materials and may set the vehicle on fire.In addition exhaust may circulate through the passenger compartment causing throat, sinus, and eye irritation, light headedness, headaches, and increased irritability and drowsiness.

FUEL ODORS/EXCESSIVE EMISSIONS
Be alert for fuel odors and excessive tailpipe emissions. Black smoke and odors are indications of problems which need to be repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage to the vehicle and components.
