SRS - Low Pressure Sensor Elimination

Group: BODY ELECTRICAL

Number: 95-90-010

Date: AUGUST, 1995

Model: ACCENT

Subject:
ELIMINATION OF SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM [SRS] LOW PRESSURE SENSOR

DESCRIPTION:

Beginning with 12/22/94 production, the low pressure sensor has been eliminated from the passenger side air bag. Due to this change, the following components have been revised.

^ The harness connection to the passenger side air bag was changed from four (4) wires to two (2) wires (the harness utilizes the same four (4) pin connector body; A03).

^ Control module logic has been changed to eliminate low pressure sensor monitoring. Whenever a 4-wire passenger air bag and/or a 4-wire air bag wiring harness are replaced with 2-wire components, the control module must be replaced with P/N 95910-22610.

Note
It is not necessary to replace a 4-wire harness with a 2-wire harness when installing a 2-wire passenger air bag.
