Code Retrieval
The MUT should be configured as follows:^ The MUT "piggyback" (adapter) body must be used.
^ The ROM pack cartridge labeled "SYSTEM PACK-B" must be inserted into the piggyback's/adapter cartridge receptacle.
^ The cartridge labeled "HRP-B" must be inserted into the main MUT body's cartridge receptacle. To access the fault codes stored in the Air Bag Control Module, you must:
1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
2. The red color wires on the MUT extension wiring harness should be disconnected (see illustration)
3. Plug the MUT wiring harness (with MUT extension wiring harness attached) into the diagnosis connector in the interior fuse box.
4. Plug the cigarette lighter connector into the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
5. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.
Hyundai Tester:
6. The MUT will then conduct a self check, followed by a model selection menu display. Select Model Number 19, "SRS AIR-BAG" (using the up or down arrow symbols on the keypad) from the menu, and press the "YES" function key on the MUT keypad. (see illustration below).
7. The following display will appear on the screen:
SRS AIR-BAG
94 MY ALL
SYSTEM?
AIR BAG
8. Press the "YES" tunction key on the MUT keypad. The following display will appear on the screen:
1. SELF-DIAG CODE
2. SERVICE DATA
3. SPECIAL TEST
9. Press the "1" key on the MUT keypad to display any stored fault codes in the Air Bag Control Module.
10. The fault code will indicate the portion of the air bag system responsible for setting the code. Refer to the service manual for additional fault code information.
