INSTALLING FUEL PRESSURE ADAPTER ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 1.8L OR 2.0L BETA ENGINE
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin describes the proper procedure for connecting the fuel pressure adapter (P/N: 09353-29000) to vehicles equipped with the 1.8L or 2.0L Beta engine.
CAUTION:
SAFETY GLASSES MUST BE WORN WHEN PERFORMING THE
FOLLOWING PROCEDURE.
PROCEDURE:
1. Locate fuel filter at left rear quarter of engine compartment.
2. Remove single tie-wrap that secures the fuel pressure line to the fuel return line.
3. Remove electrical connector (see photo above) from below master cylinder reservoir.
CAUTION:
BEFORE PROCEEDING TO NEXT STEP, PLACE SHOP RAG OVER FUEL FILTER TO CAPTURE FUEL SPRAY.
4. Move shop rag enough to expose bolt on top of fuel filter, remove bolt and line from filter.
5. Before installing onto vehicle, attach fuel pressure adapter to fuel pressure gauge assembly.
6. Using bolt and washer supplied with adapter, install adapter/gauge assembly between fuel filter and fuel pressure line. Securely tighten bolt.
7. Start engine and check for leaks. If no leaks are present, continue with fuel pressure test.
8. When finished, reassemble in reverse order. Check for fuel leaks.
