Removal Procedure

1. Record the customer's radio stations and disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the heater control cable from the heater unit located underneath the driver-side dashboard.





3. Pull out the dimmer switch with a flat tip screw driver, disconnect the dimmer switch connector and remove the dimmer switch.

4. Remove screw located underneath the dimmer switch.





5. Remove the console upper cover surrounding the gear shift lever.





6. Remove screw underneath the ashtray.





7. Remove the center facia panel mounting screws and pull out the center facia panel.





8. Disconnect electrical connections (switch extension wire, vacuum harness, blower switch, A/C switch and cigarette lighter) and remove the center facia panel.

9. Unscrew four (4) radio bracket screws.

10. Disconnect radio harness connector and antenna and pull out radio.

11. Remove two (2)-brackets from both sides of the radio, the trim plate, and radio harness adapter from old radio and install onto new radio.

Note:
If upgrading the radio to an optional CD player (part no. 00215-A5100), new brackets will be required and are supplied in the Elantra CD Installation Kit (part no. 00215-H6100).
