ROUTING OF 1996-98 ELANTRA TEMPERATURE CONTROL CABLE
DESCRIPTION:
Whenever the upper center console is removed, it is important to correctly route the temperature control cable during installation. Incorrect routing of this cable will prevent the temperature control door in the heater unit from functioning properly.
ROUTING PROCEDURE:
The correct routing for the temperature control cable is:
A. Above the radio cross bracket, and
B. Inside, to the right of the driver side vertical center console metal structure.
After installation, check that the temperature control cable operates properly and that the temperature control door linkage travels its full range of motion.
Route the temperature control cable:
- Above the radio cross bracket, and
- Inside, to the right of the driver side vertical center console metal structure.
Check that the temperature control door linkage travels its full range of motion. (Look under the dashboard near the accelerator pedal.)
