Before installing replacement compressor, drain oil from old and new compressors. If 3 to 5 ounces of oil was drained from old compressor, install the same amount of oil in new compressor. If more than 5 ounces was drained from old compressor, install 5 ounces of new refrigerant oil in new compressor. If less than 3 ounces was removed from oil compressor, install 3 ounces in new compressor.
When replacing the accumulator, drain oil from accumulator and measure. Add same amount of new oil plus 2.6 ounces to new accumulator. When other air conditioning system components are replaced, add the following quantities of refrigerant oil: Evaporator core, 1.6 ounces; condenser, 1.1 fluid ounces.
