Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR ADJUSTMENT1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector.
2. If a scan too is not used connect a digital type voltmeter between connector 1 and 3.
NOTE: Do not disconnect the engine control module connector from the engine control module. Use a digital voltmeter.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the On position (do not start engine) and check that the throttle position sensor output voltage is as specified. If a scan tool is used press code number 14 and read the voltage.
Standard Value: 4.80 - 5.20 Volts
4. If it is out of specification, loosen throttle position sensor mounting screws and adjust by turning the throttle position sensor.
NOTE: Turning the throttle position sensor clockwise increases the output voltage. Tighten the screws securely after adjustment.
5. Turn the ignition switch the the OFF position.
