Steering Column: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: When working on the steering column, check for the following:
1. Steering column and shaft for damage and distortion.
2. Joints for play, damage or rough movement.
3. Tilt bracket and spring for cracks and damage.
4. That the steering lock mechanism operates properly.
5. Dust cover for cracks or damage. If necessary, replace it.
