REMOVABLE AIRBAG WARNING LABEL

DESCRIPTION:

It is required by law for all vehicles manufactured on February 25, 1997 and after that a removable airbag warning label must be applied such that it is "clearly visible from all front seating positions". The removable airbag warning label is applied to either the passenger side airbag cover or to the glovebox door, depending on the model. THIS LABEL MUST REMAIN ON THE VEHICLE UNTIL RETAIL DELIVERY, at which time the consumer has the option to remove the label.

The removable airbag warning label can be removed only by the vehicle purchaser. using the procedure on the following page. Copies of the included page can be made for distribution as necessary.

If the label is damaged or missing, spare labels are available from the PDC (part no. 85261-29600).

REMINDER:
THE REMOVABLE WARNING LABEL IS TO BE REMOVED ONLY BY THE VEHICLE PURCHASER AFTER RETAIL DELIVERY.

THE TEMPORARY AIR BAG WARNING LABEL CAN BE REMOVED BY THE VEHICLE PURCHASER USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

1. Carefully peel the label from a top corner, pulling it downward at an angle towards the other side. Pull with the label folded back 180° on itself (not 90°).

2. If some adhesive remains on the instrument panel, press the removed label on it and pull off. This will "blot" the adhesive off of the instrument panel.

3. To clean adhesive from the instrument panel, use a rag dampened with mineral spirits* to soften it. Wipe a dry paper towel over the loosened adhesive, then repeat the mineral spirits application. To prevent spreading the softened adhesive, keep turning the rag and paper towel to use fresh surfaces, and only wipe them over the actual adhesive. Repeat these steps until the adhesive is removed.

* Baby oil may be substituted for mineral spirits.

4. Use a light detergent, such as a quality name brand dish detergent, to clean the mineral spirits from the instrument panel. Wring out a clean rag soaked in the diluted detergent, so no liquid will run off as the instrument panel is cleaned. Clean in two or three steps, wiping the detergent off with a dry paper towel after each step.

5. Allow to dry.

If any traces of the adhesive remain after drying, repeat the procedure, using clean rags and paper towels.
