Speedometer Cable: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the old cable.





2. When connecting the cable to the speedometer, insert the cable until its stopper properly fits to the meter side groove.





3. Install the grommet so that the cable attachment part and the projecting parts are horizontal (as shown in the illustration).

CAUTION: The cable arrangement should be made so that the radius of cable bends is 150 mm (5.9 inch) or more.





4. At the transaxle end of the speedometer cable, the key joint should be inserted into the transaxle, and the nut should then be securely tightened.

CAUTION: If the cable is not correctly and securely connected, it may cause an incorrect speedometer indication or an abnormal noise.
