Drive Belt: Testing and Inspection

1. Press the V-belt applying a pressure of 98 N (10 kg, 22 lbs.) at the specified point, and measure the deflection to confirm that it is within the standard value range.

Standard value:
V-belt deflection: 7 - 10 mm (0.28 - 0.39 inch)

2. To adjust the belt tension, loosen the tensioner mounting nut and move the tensioner to obtain the standard value (V-6 ENG.).
3. To adjust the belt tension, loosen the oil pump mounting bolts, move the oil pump, and then retighten the bolts (DOHC ENG.).
