Circuit Description
Only authorized service personnel should do work on or around the supplemental restraint system (SRS) components. Service personnel should read section 56a of the service manual carefully before starting work on the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) is a safety device which, when used in conjunction with the seat belts, is designed to protect the driver and front seat passenger by deploying when the car is involved in certain frontal impacts.
With the ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied to the SRS control module from fuse 12 and to the SRS indicator in the instrument cluster from fuse 1. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the SRS indicator is the instrument cluster will flash six times. If the SRS indicator does not flash six times, or stays ON, or comes on while driving, the SRS is not working properly.
