REPLACEMENT OF ECM CONNECTOR COVERS
FOR 2.5L AND 2.7L V6 ENGINES
DESCRIPTION:
The Engine Control Module (ECM) connector covers installed on vehicles with 2.5L and 2.7L V6 engines are now available as separate service parts that may be used to replace damaged connector covers.
This bulletin provides service parts information for the ECM connector covers and how to replace damaged connector covers with corresponding new parts.
VEHICLES AFFECTED:
^ Model: All vehicles with 2.5L and 2.7L V6 engines

SERVICE PROCEDURE:
NOTE:
This service procedure is prepared based on the Tucson model. For all other models, the procedure is similar.
1. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
2. Open the hood.
3. Disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
4. Remove the crash pad lower panel.
NOTE:
This step may not be required on other models.
5. Remove the ECM mounting bolt (1 each) and nuts (2 each) using a 10 mm socket.

6. Disconnect the damaged ECM connector covers by following the step below.
7. Disconnect the ECM connectors from the lower side to the upper side as indicated.
NOTE:
Start with the RH-most connector.
8. Lower each ECM connector cover locking lever after pressing down the locking button as shown.
9. Locate the connector housing lock.
10. Release the connector housing lock by lifting it using a pin remover. Then, remove the connector housing from the connector cover.
11. Repeat the above steps for the other connector.
12. Install the new connector cover.
13. Assemble the new connector covers and connector housings.
14. Reinstall all removed components in reverse order of removal.
