Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

OBTAINING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
[USING HI-SCAN]
1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2. Connect the HI-SCAN to the data link connector on the coin box.
3. Turn ON the ignition switch.
4. Use the HI-SCAN to check the diagnostic trouble code.
5. Repair the faulty part from the diagnosis chart.
6. Erase the diagnostic trouble code.
7. Disconnect the HI-SCAN.

[USING VOLTMETER]
8. Ignition switch ON (Do not start)
9. Connect the voltmeter to the data link connector (No. 1 pinch)
10. Ground the L-wire (No.15) in the data link connector.
11. Output pattern shows on the voltmeter.
12. Read the output diagnostic trouble codes. Then follow the remedy procedures according to the DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DESCRIPTION".





13. Erase the diagnostic trouble code.
